In Water for Elephants - adaptation of the novel signed by Sara Gruen Success - Waltz will play a sadistic circus. In other words, will be a villain. They will terrorize consort (Witherspoon), he will terrorize the young (Pattinson) employed by the circus animal management, and will terrorize the poor animals, especially elephants - or at least that we can infer from the title. It may be a metaphor. It is unlikely however, because evil charm Waltz has no charm ... unless someone (or something) who suffer from it.

The actor seems to be that it replaces the infernal circus role Sean Penn, who after protracted negotiations with those from Fox in 2000, he quit the project altogether.
